“God’s Word, every child”. This is the simple but audacious vision of One Hope, who has sought partnership with us to reach every child across Zimbabwe with the good News of Jesus Christ and His plan for salvation and message of love and hope. We have set up a hub in Harare hosting a
container full of booklets that can be used in various ways through schools, churches, camps, or outreaches.
Our desire is to partner with the local church and interested organisations to bring the Message of Hpe, to our children and young people, addressing issues of identity, abuse, and just telling the Big Story of God’s love. We currently have 10 different discipleship courses, five aimed for high schoolers and five aimed at primary school level.
We have been encouraged by a few people who
have heard our vision, and are excited to partner and support us to make this a reality. We have a small board of dedicated people, in different fields of influence, all kingdom minded to partner with what God is doing in the His church across our
country who are stepping out in faith and trying to
make a clear path for us to step into. We have also met with the Minister of Education, the General Secretary of EFZ, partnered with Foundations for Farming, Miracle Missions, River of Life and their
DNA, Northside Community Church, ACSI Zimbabwe, to mention a few key players in the laying of foundations for this work to progress.
We have already witnessed many miracles and seen the hand of God giving us favour in so many ways. Firstly the fact that our booklets were delivered so quickly after documentation was done. It was in mid-February when our truckload of materials arrived, taking us seven hours to offload it all into our donated container!
In faith, in January we welcomed Israel, the One Hope regional trainer based in Lesotho to come and train us, even though at that stage we did not have any materials to distribute. We also began to engage the Ministry of Education to discuss openings and possibilities for taking the material into our schools and supporting the current curriculum for both agriculture and life skills. In fact, it was after our meeting with the Minister of Education that we confirmed our name, Children with Hope, because of the Truth that God’s Word can bring Hope and Life in the place of the hopelessness that was being seen in our children across Zimbabwe
We have also started to partner and train a
Master trainers cohort, of twelve people, who represent different areas of influence both in the church and community across Zimbabwe.
Each person has a personal testimony of faith and eagerly desires to see God’s Word being taken to our children and youth. Each person has a personal cost to this commitment – but they do not let it hinder their passion and desire to be obedient and be a part of what Another lady shared how she needed to leave home at 5am in order to beat the traffic and ensure
she was on time for the training. A young gentleman with a big smile upon his face talked about his
work with disabled children and how he intended to use this material to bring Hope and Truth to them. This is sacrificial love, but one does not feel it is a sacrifice because of the joy on their faces
of being able to have a tool to touch the lives of children and youth in their areas of influence. Our next training where we plan to invite fifty more new trainees will be held on the 2-3 May at Northside Community Church, Harare.
The new film series called the Chosen, shown on line, is a popular film trying to create an understanding of the lives of the disciples and understanding of what being called by Jesus meant to them and the dynamics of being a new group of friends and coworkers. Well, when I look at our
group that we feel God has called
together, I see such diversity in
age and experience, also much
weakness and many stumbling
blocks and lack of resources.
However at the same time I also
see much faith, incredible excitement and eagerness to learn and be vessels for God to use, and so am humbled, challenged, and reminded that He who has begun a good work within us will bring it
to completion on the day of Jesus Christ. God has called us, He will equip us with everything we need to do His work.
Thank you for your interest, partnership and prayers as we step out in faith to follow the call of Jesus to take His message of Hope to our children across Zimbabwe. If you would like to know more about our work, contribute to the work in cash or kind, or partner as
a church or Christian organisation to be trained and use the materials, please contact us through:
