VERSE Romans 15:13 ”May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him”

VALLEY OF DRY BONES

Ezekiel 37:1–14, the valley of dry bones, has reminded me afresh of the power of God’s Spirit to bring life where things appear dry and hopeless. New life can only be experienced as the Spirit of God gives it and the result is that everyone will know that the Lord has done it. This is our prayer within Children with Hope, that the Lord will breathe His Spirit among the children and youth across Zimbabwe, and bring Hope and Life, affecting their destiny, and bringing God all the glory.

We began 2026 with a team retreat day of prayer, and were reminded about Gods heart for the lost, to think Generationally, Kingdom minded and with an eternal perspective in all we do this coming year. It comes from us first being rooted in Christ, His source of strength and grace working within us, that then enables us to do what He has asked of each of us.

The first quarter of 2026 has brought both encouraging momentum and notable challenges. While the ministry continues to expand its reach—especially through our partnership with MMV, we remain committed to strengthen the local church and to both challenge and equip the local church to reach the next generation with disciples of Jesus. Not just to make converts, but to truly see deep discipleship happening transforming both lives and communities.

In the first 3 months of 2026 we held trainings and vision casting with both pastors, children and youth leaders, youth themselves, and also did some film showing to children in the different areas:

A wonderful testimony to the transforming work of the gospel, came from a youth group in a high density suburb in Harare, called Hatcliff, where the youth completed a 16-week discipleship last year, “Called to Thrive”. As the youth discussed their purpose and God given gifts and passions and how to use them for His glory, they shifted their focus off themselves, to what they could do within their community together. As they served their community, they also used it as fundraising project to assist their youth to go on camp. For the first time, they were all able to go away without having to ask the church for any financial assistance.

Daisy's Testimony

Daisy was raised in a Christian home, where faith was woven into the fabric of their daily life. From a young age, her parents ensured she attended Sunday school, planting seeds of spiritual understanding and reverence for God. Although she grew up surrounded by Christian teachings, it wasn’t until the beginning of this year that she made a personal decision to repent and fully surrender her life to Jesus Christ. That moment marked a profound turning point, and she was baptized—publicly declaring her faith and embracing Him as and Lord and Saviour in her life.

Daisy’s decision to follow Christ was deeply influenced by a church camp she attended at the end of last year. During the camp, she connected with other girls who, like her, had been raised in Christian homes but quietly wrestled with feelings of insecurity, isolation, and a longing to be truly understood and loved. Many of them had learned to keep to themselves, unsure of how to express their inner struggles.

In the room they shared was a 15-year-old girl whose story mirrored theirs—but she had found healing and confidence through the guidance of her youth leader at church. Her faith was evident, and she spoke openly about her journey, sharing how God had transformed her sense of self-worth and deepened her relationship with Him. She encouraged the girls to seek out safe, faith-filled spaces where they could grow spiritually and emotionally, and to pray boldly for God’s help in their journey.

That moment stirred something in Daisy. She longed for the same confidence and closeness with God. It was then that her heart opened to the possibility of a personal relationship with Christ—one rooted not just in upbringing, but in conviction and surrender.

Daisy’s youth group at church began using one of our resource books as part of their discipleship journey. This resource has played a significant role in helping her build confidence—not just in herself, but in who she is through Christ. Her Youth Leader has been instrumental in nurturing that growth, consistently encouraging her to embrace her identity and worth in the Lord.

Since joining the group, Daisy has formed deeper friendships with other Christian girls who continue to walk alongside her, encouraging her and helping her grow in her faith. These relationships have become a source of strength, reminding her that she’s never alone on her journey with God.

Inspired by Daisy’s transformation, the family has taken steps to deepen their own spiritual walk. They’ve begun praying together regularly, creating a nurturing environment that encourages her younger siblings to grow in prayer and faith as well. While the journey is ongoing, the family remains committed to seeking God’s guidance and covering their home in prayer, trusting Him to lead them forward together.

Vision 2033

Our Vision 2033 is to Catalyse a movement within the global church that engages every child and youth in every generation with Jesus through His Word, and so as Zimbabwe we are excited to be a part of this global movement and trust God for favour as we work with the local church. We believe that God is at work within the local church and especially through the youth themselves, being missional and intentional about their faith.

In February, 4 or our core team members were able to travel to Pretoria, in South Africa for the One Hope Regional annual meeting, which is always an encouragement and important in building partnerships and relationships deepening with the team across Southern Africa as well as our team support based in Pretoria. We also participate in the One Hope global day of Prayer and the Africa day of prayer both held in March via zoom.

In early March, we were delighted to receive a new consignment of resources, and we pray that these will be well received and used across the country to disciple children and youth.

Our targets number for this year are: to vision cast and deepen engagement with each of them

A Personal Reflection

The digital space and film are both new areas that we are stepping into intentionally and we are trying to gather volunteers passionate in these areas to work with us. Again the focus is to build relationships and be able to do deep discipleship through these platforms. We also are working on podcasts on our you tube channel, and our digital intern is creating more material to be visible on the social media sites, and we believe God can use this to build new partnerships.

We are also looking to use the upcoming World Cup as an opportunity to present the gospel and have a youth resource booklet talking about the gospel message.

‘ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”.
